As healthcare costs in the U.S. continue to escalate faster than any other category, AI offers a solution by enhancing operational efficiency and patient care. However, even with evidence-based improvements, adoption can be hindered if we cannot effectively explain AI outcomes to administrators and clinicians.
The operationalization of Explainable AI (XAI), along with the associated causal narratives and reviews and approvals by HHS and its agencies, particularly the FDA, ensures that the benefits of AI in healthcare are realized without risk.
